Activation Creation

To create a channel activation, select the ‘+’ button above the Activation Table. Then select the Activation type needed (Scheduled or Triggered).

This will open the Create Activation wizard. To create a campaign activation:

  • Add Activation Name

  • Add Description – a short note to describe the activation for other users

  • Select Campaign – only one per activation

  • Select Activation Channel – availability defined by campaign selection

IMPORTANT: At present, campaigns can only be linked to activations on a 1:1 basis. As such, if a campaign is already linked to another activation when an activation is created, FunnelManager will duplicate the campaign to proceed.

Once all fields have been completed, the activation can be saved. This will trigger an autoestimate on the activation and load the Activation View.

Channel Details Check

From version 3.1.3, users have the ability to check the selected channel details directly in the activation creation UI, to ensure the correct channel is selected and the correct data will be delivered.

When a channel has been selected, an information window will appear beneath the selection input.

When the link in the information panel is clicked, the user will be able to review the channel details.

Within this view, the channel details provided include:

  • Channel Type

  • Channel Group information (when available)

  • Category

  • Channel Content - a summary table of the data delivery file content for that channel

Offer Metadata

Since version 3.1.2, offer metadata setup has been moved to the Activation, linked as it is to the channel definition. For many channels, Offer Metadata can be an important step required to ensure that Activations are successful.

Each channel within the Campaign Activator is set up to receive specific metadata with its campaigns.

Offers should contain all relevant metadata for any channel to be activated with those campaign audiences.

The offer metadata can be accessed through a separate tab once the campaign and channel have been selected for the Activation. At present, a template is preloaded with all possible requirements, to be edit and completed by the user.

Note: Metadata can be entered in both beautified and minified JSON format.

Activate Activation

When the activation is ready for use, it should be activated.

Any AVAILABLE activation can be activated using the “Activate” button on the top right of the Activation Summary screen.

To activate an activation, a user must:

  • Schedule Activation - select a Start and End Date

  • Email Notification - select an email report delivery schedule

Schedule Activation

The first step of activating is to select the start and end date of the activation:

The scheduling must follow these rules:

  • The start date cannot be before the current date

  • The end date cannot be before the current date

  • The start date cannot be before the start date of the linked campaign (see Activation Requirements below)

  • The end date cannot be after the end date of the linked campaign (see Activation Requirements below)

  • The end date cannot be before the start date

Activation Requirements

It is important to note that to activate an activation, the linked campaign should be published. The user interface will ensure that if the campaign is unpublished, the user fulfils the requirements prior to activating the activation

Unpublished Campaigns

As a campaign needs to be published before an activation can be activated, FunnelManager will prompt users to complete the publishing of a linked campaign in the same flow as activating the activation.

The user can simply schedule the campaign and publish at the same time as activating the activation.

Email Notification

Once the activation scheduling has been completed, the user must select an email notification schedule for the activation reporting.

The default is ‘never’.

Once this has been selected, the activation can be activated.

Activated activations can still be edited, including updating start and end dates. The email notification scheduling can not, as yet, be changed.

Edit Schedule

The schedule can be changed when the activation is active through the edit functionality.

The start and end date and times can be updated and saved. In this way, an active activation can be paused.

Stop Activation

An active activation can be stopped all together by using the ‘Deactivate’ button on the Activation Summary screen.

Once the activation has been stopped, it cannot be re-activated, but the user may copy the activation and activate the copy.
